I can’t *completely* comment on your design because I know you got your supercute header image from someone else, but since you designed the rest (coding, color selection, etc), I’ll comment on those things. First of all, your sidebar looks a little wacky in Internet Explorer. It’s not just the images; it’s also the background color, link display, and spacing. I’m not sure if you’ve seen the difference, but you might want to test some changes in coding for your IE visitors. :)

The first thing I’ve noticed is that your website doesn’t look right in Internet Explorer. There’s a break between the header image and the content. It’s a minor visual error and I don’t know if it concerns you, but there it is.
Secondly, oh my God, this may just be my opinion but your color selection is a little nauseating. It’s not that it’s badly designed, no, it’s actually nicely put together, but the pinks with that faded yellow next to the green and the blue? None of it is realy doing anything for me. I promised to remark on first impression and at the moment your website looks very plain. If you’re going to have a splash page, have a reason for it. What I see is “Site Requirements: AOL, FireFox, Opera, or IE. 800 x 600 resolution or higher.” in plain Times New Roman text on a blue background. And that’s… it.
Your site was submitted as Writing and Art Portfolio but there’s nothing indicating that I can enter so I wonder if you meant “rings and cliques page?” I use your requirements - Firefox, 1024×768 resolution - and yet I cannot find any way to enter except by viewing your source and typing the address in manually.
